Chapter 8: Street Sales Survival Guide

Street Sales is your main cash flow and income source… the ability to walk up to an individual, present yourself and make a sales presentation in the form a formal introduction is one that acquires a high level of what we refer to as “Gussto” … The art of street selling is an uncommon form of sales that requires experience.

Luckily you don’t have to have experience to start selling. Most refer to a common street seller as bum or some side street entertainer… but you are not ether of these. You are a highly creative and motivated individual set out to prove to the world you make a living doing this. If our attitudes reflect this confidence and makes us winners in our own minds first, before becoming an outward expression… we will win and keep winning, each and every time.

In order to ensure success in sales in the street and in this particular market place you’re going to have to adjust accordingly. The climate of the sales environment is always shifting and changing every minute of the day as you meet new customers a new people you will come to the realize this and it will quickly become apparent that you will need to address the many people you come across with your sales presentations. May I suggest a few tactics that I have always used myself in order to ensure a successful haul throughout the day and I will go over these right now with you.

I recommend having a light backpack and in it to pack with you your merchandise and to carry some water and lunch as well. I recommend traveling on foot as much as possible until you have built a solid sales rep and can until you start being able to drive around periodically just start selling out of the trunk style. Until it we get to that in another series, lets stay focused on the secrets, and in this particular course I would like to just focus mainly on the secrets that separate you from the rest.

You must always be willing to present your self in a manner that is confident and calm and shows that you mean business at the same time. Whoever that is up to you to make the sale it’s not up to the customer. That’s not my control or anything like that and there’s no sales persuasion whatsoever… it boils down to the formula and the basic principle of understanding your value and knowing you’re worth.

It is important to know your value because otherwise you will lose sight of your vision quickly and wondering why am I even out here and start getting discouraged when you do not make the sales. The difference between knowing the law working for you on the half for not working for you and the principles separate you from that guy on the other side of the street selling his wares getting tired of no sales.
